Aegis Mortgage Corporation was a privately owned mortgage company engaged in the business of acquiring, selling, and servicing residential mortgage loans. When the Learning & Performance Solutions team worked with them, Aegis was one of the 50 largest mortgage production franchises in the country.
Aegis conducted a Needs Analysis and determined that a learning solution was necessary to meet the needs of its growing workforce. Aegis chose Learning & Performance Solutions (LPS) Group to create e-Learning courses as part of its new blended learning initiative for all Aegis associates. LPS developed courseware for Aegis’ employees in more than 150 branch offices.

LPS created the Aegis Mortgage Academy, fifteen SCORM-compliant e-Learning courses that cover a broad range of topics from workplace policies and procedures (Benefits, Workplace Harassment, Fraud and Ethics) to technical topics (Fundamentals of Credit and Income, Appraisals, and Core Loan Products). Since the content varied widely from course to course, the instructional design strategy was tailored to match the content.
- Scenarios demonstrated complex situations that commonly occur in the industry. Learners watched a video (or listened to a recording) and answered questions about interactions, such as someone threatening a coworker or two coworkers discussing an unethical practice.
- Flash® animations provided step-by-step instructions and gave learners the opportunity to read and interpret actual reports. Interactive scenarios allowed learners to determine credit worthiness or property value.
- Rollovers provided supplementary information (tips) and allowed users to make comparisons.
Certification courses have functionality that requires each screen to be viewed and tests to be passed. The certification and course completion information was administered and tracked through Aegis' Learning Management System (LMS). Learning & Performance Solutions Group worked with the LMS administrator on a course-by-course basis for integration into the LMS.
