Mitsubishi Motors North America (MMNA) is responsible for supporting the sale and service of Mitsubishi vehicles through the dealer network in the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico.
The Learning & Performance Solutions Group (LPS) has been a partner with Mitsubishi for several years—we first built, then maintained, then upgraded the Mitsubishi Academy LMS. We also developed custom e-Learning courses. Over the years, we have gained an in-depth knowledge of the Mitsubishi culture from both the corporate and the dealership sides of the business.
Mitsubishi Sales Training Department was looking for a way to give Sales Consultants something to provide their customers with that could give them a virtual tour of the line-up of Mitsubishi cars and crossover SUVs. Mitsubishi wanted to create a mobile-based virtual tour application that could be deployed to the iPhone and/or iPod Touch.
Mitsubishi has a younger audience demographic. They wanted to leverage cutting edge technology in order to enhance sales numbers and empower customers to do a little investigating on their own. The application needed to be downloaded to the device so that connection to the Internet would not be needed. They wanted to give the customer just enough so that they’d come asking questions—and they wanted it to be portable.

LPS developed a highly effective mobile application for Mitsubishi that not only supports their customers, but also supports the training efforts of dealership personnel.
A custom application was created that could be deployed to the iPhone and/or iPod Touch. The application enabled customers at a dealership to view a self-guided interactive virtual tour of all 8 of Mitsubishi’s vehicles.
This application allows customers to take a self-guided, interactive tour with a salesperson nearby should any questions arise. Launching the application is easy. A push of a button starts a video that highlights one of the newest models, then a menu appears that offers a tour on each of the vehicles in Mitsubishi’s line-up. With a simple tap on the screen, automobile shoppers are on their way—learning about trim levels, engines, transmissions, airbags, navigation systems and much more.
